About Us

What is AVQB?

"A Very Queer Ballet" is a Bellingham, WA based contemporary dance company committed to exploring and expanding LGBTQ+ representation in dance. AVQB productions and events tell queer stories through art and movement with queer joy, comfort, visibility, and safety at the core.

Why?

AVQB dedicates its work to every trans and genderqueer person who has struggled to find their place in dance communities. Dance should be a place of boundless self-expression, not hostility and discrimination.
