"A Very Queer Ballet: Transcendence" is a contemporary dance work that explores gender, time, and queer existence. The show is written, choreographed, directed, and performed by students and dancers from across Bellingham.
This project is dedicated to every trans and genderqueer who has struggled to find their place in dance communities. Dance should be a place of boundless self-expression, not hostility and discrimination.
AVQB's second production, "Transcendence", explores the experiences of a trans person, River, at three different points in his life. River faces dysphoria, challenging social dynamics, and finding peace in his identity.
